Project Purge Update #1: Empties & Mini Product Reviews.

It's been 2 weeks since I pledged to use stuff up and I am quite surprised by the results. The bag in my beauty room/study was just about full. It has given me great satisfaction using up odds and ends and a grand total of 33 products have hit the recycling bin in just 14 days. It just shows if you put your mind to it, it can be done. I originally decided to use up 15 and then buy just 1 more product, however I have the 'de-cluttering' bug now and am keen to use more up first.  Here's the lowdown. Sorry - it's quite text heavy!

4 packets of face wipes: 2 x Simple, Neal's Yard Organic Face Wipes and Superdrug's Cleansing Facial Wipes. As always Simple are top of the pack. Neal's Yard are refreshing, however totally overpriced. Superdrug's version are actually pretty good; cheap and they work.

4 sachet face masks: Apivita Express Beauty with Sea Lavender (beautiful and hydrating and smells incredible), 2 x 7th Heaven - Pineapple Peel Off and Strawberry Souffle. 7th Heaven are £1 a packet, work incredibly well and there is a face mask to suit everyone. 1 x Timeless Truth Travel Pack. Innovative. This 3 in one face mask is ideal for travellers, having a separate makeup remover, cleanser and face pack all in one handy pack. Skin is left soft and clean. Avoid getting the face mask near eyes though as this made my eyes sting like mad. Ideal to add to any suitcase.

3 micellar waters: Superdrug Vitamin E (oily, claims to gently remove, however I found this quite harsh on the eyes, so would not purchase again). Mini Bioderma H2O. Still fabulous, gentle and removes everything. Soap and Glory 5-in-1 Total Drama Clean. This stinks of cucumber, in a nice way, is refreshing and removes everything with ease.

2 cleansing oils: Caudalie Makeup Remover Cleansing Oil. Beautiful, gentle, smells amazing (packed with grape and sweet almond), removes everything and leaves skin soft. Definitely on the repurchase list. If you're a fan of cleansing oils, and looking for a cheaper alternative then L'Oreal's extraordinary oil is amazing, Non-greasy it dissolves everything, leaving skin squeaky clean with no irritation or residue.

2 cleansers: Neal's Yard Wild Rose Balm. Originally loved this. It has taken me a long time to get through. Great multi-purpose product, however now I prefer the less heavy texture of oils and this is incredibly thick. Still does a great job and if you are looking for a heavy duty balm, this could be the one for you. Caudalie's Gentle Cleansing milk, is gentle and soft on the skin. Perfect used after their cleansing oil for a double cleanse.

1 makeup remover: The Body Shop's Camomile Gentle Eye Make Up Remover. Gentle, is not a word I would use to describe this. This stung my eyes terribly. Made them weep and water. Sensitive Eyes? Avoid this.

1 face scrub: Huygens Face Scrub. Not particularly familiar with this brand, none-the-less this was a great scrub which packed a punch. Skin was revitalised and smooth. Would definitely buy something else from the line to try.

2 face washes: Garnier's Fresh Clarifying wash with Green Tea and Moringa extract. This is for combo/oily skin, so it dried my skin out terribly. However if you have oily skin this would probably work well. Note to self - check the label before purchasing. The Organic Pharmacy Rose Facial Cleansing Gel. This refreshes skin and leaves it super clean, no drying out, so perfect for dry skin.

2 moisturisers: Arbonne Nurturing Day Lotion with SPF 20. Lightweight, this provided a great base before applying foundation. Tatcha's Enriching Renewal Cream. Expensive and didn't really do alot for my skin. I love Tatcha's face mist, however I wouldn't repurchase this.

4 random skincare products: La Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo. Always in my stash. Perfect to diminish any problematic areas quickly. Great as a primer, this stuff works and I am on my 4th tube now. Clinique's Custom Repair Serum featured in my last post. Ideal for using under the eyes and extremely hydrating. I will definitely be picking up another one soon. Liz Earle is one of my favourite skin care brands and her Soothing Eye Lotion is another fantastic product to add to any skin care fanatics cupboard. It cleans and revitalises the eye area. Tired eyes? Soak a couple of cotton wool pads and place on closed eyes for a real pick up. Great stuff. Last off is Simple's Hydro Mist. Not sure if this is stocked anymore, however I have been using this to dampen my Beauty Blender and it works a treat.  If you see this on sale and use a foundation sponge, definitely pick one up. Used with the BB, this mist seems to leave even heavier foundations with a dewy finish.

2 fragrances: Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia. One of my all-time favourite scents. I love any Jo Malone product and this is definitely on my Christmas list. H and M Urban Verve Body Mist. I like H and M's new makeup/skincare/hair line, however this was not for me. Freshly scented, however it reminds me of toilet cleaner. I tipped most of it away.

2 shower products:  Lush's Snow Fairy. Love, love, love this stuff. Sooo sweet, pink and sparkly. I already have a trip to Lush planned before Christmas. Completely different on the shower-side of things is L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil. I really rate this, however I seem to use the bottle up far too quickly. It smells incredible and hydrates skin before you step out of the shower. No body moisturiser required.

1 mascara: Nars Audacious. Hard work and over-hyped.  There are much better mascaras out there for under £10. Read my review here.

3 miscellaneous products: The Body Shop French Lavender Massage Oil. A lovely scented oil, which I used by adding a few drops to the bath. A guaranteed good nights sleep in a bottle! It smells heavenly and left me feeling relaxed. Mio's Workout Wonder; this muscle gel was great for achy legs. Cools tired limbs instantly, so would be perfect for gym bunnies. B's Makeup Brush Cleanser. Fantastic, cheap, does a great job. Already re-purchased, vital to my makeup kit. Read the low-down here.

Phew!!! Thanks for sticking with me. With 33 products used up, I can technically buy 2 more, any suggestions drop them below........
