I'm always trying new skin care, always on a quest to find new products, things that are going to do wonders, make me look younger and appear youthful. I like to switch it up.  I don't think I'll ever be totally happy with a routine. However I thought I would share with you the products I am using right now, as these appear to work well together and my dry, parched skin is relatively happy. By the time this has been posted, I'm quite sure I will have discovered more new products to tell you about, but this routine is working well at the moment.  I have decided to split my regime into 2 posts, the next one will follow in a few days time.  One thing I have discovered on my hunt for great skin, is that it doesn't matter how much the product costs, as long as they work.

First off, as most people do, I cleanse, tone and moisturise. 2 of the products below, I will continue to use as long as the companies continue making them.

This is a Holy Grail product - L'Oreal Skin Perfection - 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil.
I believe I'm now on my 3rd or 4th bottle of this.  It is amazing! It is cheap - £7.99 (at time of posting it is currently £5.99 in Boots).  I love the way this product makes my skin feel, it's so easy to use, not very scented, the smell is minimal.  To use this I apply around 4 pumps, and massage into my skin.  It does as it says on the tin - 'instantly dissolves even waterproof makeup'.  There is no rubbing involved, so just massaging into your eyelashes will remove the most stubborn of mascaras. If I have been wearing a lot of makeup, I would do this step twice and rinse with a flannel or muslin cloth. Just a really, really great product! I much prefer this to MAC's Cleanse Off Oil. I cannot be without this now.  If you have sensitive skin, slightly on the dry side, I highly recommend this. Once you have rinsed off, there is no greasy residue, just smooth, soft skin.

An extra (optional) step I do, is use a cotton pad, and sweep Micellar water over my face once I have used L'Oreal's oil. Mainly just to make sure I have removed all make up and dirt from my face. I have currently been impressed with 'B Pure' from Superdrug as it is suitable even for the most sensitive skin types. It is quick to use, effective, restores pH balance to the skin and as it contains Cucumber Juice extract it is very refreshing. Only £2.47 for 150 ml

Another product I cannot live without is this Tesco Cucumber Toner (with Vitamin E).  Using this in conjunction with the Micellar water, seems to be a winning combination.   At 80p for 150ml, it is around 3 times cheaper than any other toner on the market!  It is very gentle, refreshing and leaves your skin feeling great.  It doesn't leave that horrible tight feeling and is soothing and cooling on the skin.  Another Holy Grail product.

To hydrate and finish off with I am currently using the  'First Aid Beauty' Ultra Repair Cream. Ideal for sensitive skin, as it relieves minor irritations, itching due to eczema and psoriasis. This product is multi-purpose, contains no parabens, harsh chemicals, or colorants. It is great for burns, rashes and suitable for sensitive skin.  £9.00 from Amazon for 56.7g

So far these products are working really well together, it just shows you do not have to spend a fortune for great results.  My skin is clearer than it has been in ages and I'm really happy.

Has anyone else tried any of these products, or have any great skin care tips they can share?
Come back soon, the 2nd part of my skin care routine, will be up in a few days time!  For now I will continue my hunt for more great products to let you know about.
